Who We Are

A proper set+setting can significantly influence the quality and outcome of a psychedelic [marketing] experience.

set+setting is a team of psychedelic advocates and digital marketing experts who’ve rallied around one simple belief: When psychedelic marketing journeys are properly planned, guided, and integrated, the result is a culture that adapts, policy that moves, and most importantly, people who heal.

It’s a belief we’ve put in motion since day one, and one that has helped all our partners move this wondrous field forward and accelerate the renaissance.

Meet the Team

Alexia, Lexie or Lex (pick your favorite)

Founder + Principal Strategist in Chicago

She is a Libra who enjoys aquarium keeping, flying trapeze, pottery, gardening and rollerblading.

  • Lexie has spent the better part of two decades in marketing and communications — first at larger agencies, then at a mid-size shop, then freelancing before building her own boutique agency, Disco Social, which she ran successfully for years in the consumer brand space.

But the work she cared about most was always somewhere else. A moment of kismet and then a deliberate pivot brought everything into focus, and set+setting became where all of her energy goes today.

Since then, the agency has grown entirely through word of mouth to serve organizations across the psychedelic and mental health movement — most of them nonprofits, many of them working with veterans, a community that she is deeply honored to work alongside.

Lexie serves as a fractional communications leader for several clients, embedding with their teams to shape strategy, refine messaging, and build communications infrastructure that small organizations usually can't afford on their own.

She's not an outsider advising on this space. She's been immersed in it for years, building long-term relationships and working behind the scenes to help her clients increase their impact from every angle.

Her approach comes down to doing whatever it takes to make the work land — whether that's leading a rebrand, connecting organizations that should know each other, or putting on a cat costume when the situation calls for it.

She's a mom of two, a longtime advocate for psychedelic medicine, and still quietly convinced she might become a marine biologist someday.

Jess, Marketing Lead in Philadelphia

She is a Cancer who loves going to music festivals, traveling to new (warm) places, and snuggling with her cats.

  • Jess is a Philadelphia-based digital marketer and social media strategist with a Master's in Public Health from Drexel University and over a decade working on the front lines of harm reduction, addiction services, and drug policy advocacy.

Her path into marketing wasn't linear. A longtime member of the festival and electronic music community, Jess found her calling giving back to the spaces that had shaped her. She became a founding member and chapter lead of DanceSafe, and spent years educating people on safer partying practices. Recognizing the reach that social media could offer, she launched a platform dedicated to sharing practical, evidence-based guidance for staying healthy and safe at music events, and discovered, along the way, that she had a genuine passion for digital communications.

That realization sparked a career pivot. Jess moved into digital health marketing, managing online communities for people living with chronic health conditions and translating complex health information into content that actually connects. She eventually launched a freelance business to work independently with organizations whose missions she believes in, bringing the same care, rigor, and community-first instincts to every client she takes on.

Ally, Social Media Manager in Chicago

She is a Capricorn who enjoys the city’s best restaurants, baking, and her cats.

  • Ally was born and raised in West Virginia. After college she spent time living in Spain and Thailand teaching English before moving to Chicago which has been home for 5 years now.  When Ally isn’t acting as the direct point of contact for our clients’ audience and creating content, you’ll find her exploring the city’s best restaurants, traveling and in the kitchen recipe testing. Never an animal person, Ally shocked everyone when she acquired two cats, Bob & Toast,  who she now completely obsessed with.  Baking is how Ally likes to relieve stress and spend her free time. She loves sharing her drool- worthy creations on Instagram and TikTok.  With 5+ years of experience working in social media, Ally loves telling stories and connecting with people online.

Gia, Designer in Chicago

She is a Cancer who enjoys pilates, puzzles and sitting at cafes.

  • Raised in Florida, conservation and environmental initiatives were significant to Gia. Exposure to alternative medicine sparked her interest in plant-based medicine and pharmacology. With a decade of experience in graphic design, she is dedicated to helping individuals and companies committed to creating conscious and sustainable societal changes. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, baking, traveling, and attending festivals.

Chelsie, Brand + Operations Coordinator in Los Angeles

She is an Aries who enjoys live music, being in nature, and making art.

  • Originally from the Bay Area, Chelsie is a born and raised California girl. She graduated from UCSB with a degree in Psych & Brain Sciences and a passion for the healing power of psychedelic medicine. She previously worked at a ketamine clinic, where she educated new patients about the therapy and ensured everybody felt safe when they walked through the door. Outside of work, Chelsie loves music, photography, art, and all things creative. She enjoys going to concerts and music festivals, and is currently studying music production at UCLA. She loves being at the beach, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her friends and family.
